The National Transition Event at Silverstone is truly a one-of-a-kind experience for the Armed Forces community.

No matter where you sit within the diverse Armed Forces community, this event is designed to provide a clear and objective understanding of the many organisations and people who underpin and support it. It aims to leave you feeling empowered, informed and confident. You’ll have ample opportunities to:

Industries ranging from automotive to clean energy are among many actively engaging  individuals with Armed Forces backgrounds, recognizing the unique skills, values and experiences they bring.  Recent work carried out by Mission Community in collaboration with government and industry has seen an accelerated understanding of what the Armed Forces community brings to society.

Big global brands to micro-organisations all come to NTE with an understanding of the contributions that the Armed Forces make to their organisations. They understand the translation of military qualifications to civilian life and are prepared to offer guidance, make connections or point attendees in the right direction. 

Accessible Support & Guidance

The National Transition Event is a comprehensive resource for individuals undergoing significant life changes by offering support and opportunity offered from a wide-range of organisations and themes. Attendees can expect representatives from Veterans UK & Defence Transition Services, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as well as the Career Transition Programme (CTP) that NTE actively promotes. Additionally, professional development resources like LinkedIn workshops and personal insights on the Community Stage will be available to inspire. Service charities provide additional assistance, while financial guidance like Forces Pension Society and spousal support services, including Recruit for Spouses and Forces Families Jobs, also attend.  We are proud to showcase additional opportunities found in sports organisations, Reserve Units and volunteering, including the Cadet movement.

  • Yes. Like most events, you will need to register to attend. Registration can be done right up until the morning of the event. Simply use the link: https://nte26.eventbrite.co.uk

    Registration is free, quick and easy. Please note that we cannot accept group bookings, everybody is required to register individually. Military spouses/partners will be required to provide their partner’s details.

    For those looking to go out on track, you will be required to register and sign an indemnity form. Upon completion you will be given a wristband - without this, you will not be able to go out on track.

  • Yes.

    Anybody under the age of 18 will not be permitted to participate in the Troops Track Day - passenger rides out on track.

    There is no problem with Cadets aged 16-18 entering the garages but will not be permitted to take part in the Troops’ Track Day

    Cadets are able to enjoy the new Cadet Karting Challenge at the new Karting centre and Sim racing rigs set up within the wing.

    Please adhere to any instructions given to you by a member of staff or driver - this is for your safety.

  • 0800 - 1700hrs

    An agenda for the day will be published closer to the event.

  • For the transition event you are advised to wear presentable casual clothes, NOT a suit. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible.

    If you are participating in the trackday element of the day, you MUST ensure that your arms and legs are covered. Staff will check and may refuse you entry if inappropriately dressed.

  • The National Transition Event is designed to help Service Leavers, Veterans and their partners to find out more about employment opportunities, to network and access support.

    Whilst everybody is welcome to enjoy a passenger ride, attendees will be required to sit through a briefing session and tour the different zones, and engage with employers that are there.

    Due to a large number of attendees, time on track will be limited. You will be informed of your allocated track time upon registration.

  • Silverstone circuit is reached by car from a junction off the A43.  It is well-signposted and easy to find.

    Please follow the AA Route signs to CAR PARK 50.

    Car Park 50 is a large gravel covered car park.

    Event welcome volunteers will point you to the NTE which you reach by walking through the Hilton Hotel.

     

  • Food and drink will be available for purchase throughout the day.

    If you prefer, please feel free to bring your own.

  • No. Passenger rides are available for those over 18 years old only.

  • Yes - please ensure that you only do so in designated smoking areas.

  • Yes, Disabled parking is situated in the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone car park.
