Held at Silverstone, one of the UK’s most iconic race tracks, the National Transition event is an event like no other. Whether you are just starting out on your resettlement journey, or are a seasoned veteran or military spouse, the National Transition Event is designed to give you a clear, objective understanding of the civilian world of work, leaving you empowered and confident as you seek out your next career. With ample opportunity to meet and network with employers actively recruiting from the Armed Forces community, get honest advice and guidance from veterans in industry, and a forum to access support from agencies and support services easier, you’ll also have the chance to enjoy supercar passenger rides around the GP Circuit!

  • Yes. Like most events, you will need to register to attend. Registration can be done right up until the morning of the event.

    Registration is free, quick and easy. Please note that we cannot accept group bookings, everybody is required to register individually. Military spouses/Partners will be required to provide their partner’s details.

    For those looking to go out on track, you will be required to registerand sign an indemnity form. Upon completion you will be given a wristband - without this, you will not be able to go out on track.

  • Yes.

    Anybody under the age of 18 will not be permitted to particpate in the Troops Track Day - passenger rides out on track.

    Under 16 years olds are not permitted to enter the garages, pitlanes and will not be able to enter the Autohall.

    Please adhere to any instructions given to you by a member of staff or driver - this is for your safety.

  • A typical day at the National Transition Event looks like this:

    • 0745hrs - Registration Opens

    • 0900hrs - Track Opens

    • 1300hrs Track Closes

    • 1300hrs - Keynote speeches

    • 1400hrs - Track Activity resumes

    1700 - The event closes

    This is just a rough guide to the event. Further details will be released closer to the date.

  • For the transition event you are advised to wear presentable casual clothes, NOT a suit. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible.

    If you are participating in the trackday element of the day, you MUST ensure that your arms and legs are covered. Staff will check and may refuse you entry if inappropriately dressed.

  • The National Transition Event is designed to help service leavers, veterans and their partners to find out more about employment opportunities, to network and access support.

    Whilst everybody is welcome to enjoy a passenger ride, attendees will be required to sit through a briefing session and tour the different zones, and engage with employers that are there.

    Due to a large number of attendees, time on track will be limited. You will be informed of your allocated track time upon registration.

  • Food and drink will be available for purchase throughout the day.

    If you prefer, please feel free to bring your own.

  • You will not be able to drive cars on track. There is, however, the opportunity to enjoy the ‘Ride & Drive’ activity. Please note that attendees under the age of 18 years will not be able to participate in this aspect of the day.

    Courtesy of Stellantis, there will be a fleet of electric vehicles for you to drive on a short road tour. In order to participate, you are required to produce your driving license and NI number.

  • Yes - please ensure that you only do so in designated smoking areas.
